06 Aug Lenmed – Heart & Stroke
Multi-stakeholder mobile platform for assessing the risk of cardiovascular diseases within the golden hour.
The very first hour after the onset of a heart attack is termed as the golden hour. It is a small window of opportunity that impacts patient’s survival chances; his/her long term quality of life. This tiny window is crucial time and time is a muscle here; because the heart muscles start to die within 50-60 minutes after it stops getting blood, and after 5 hours almost all the affected parts of the heart could be irreversibly damaged.
To reduce the damage, it is imperative to get to the nearest emergency hospital during the golden hour for treatment.
The golden hour has become a globally recognized catchphrase in the field of trauma, and communities and hospitals are encouraged to develop and implement regional and statewide systems to ensure that trauma patients receive appropriate care within 1 hour of injury to prevent fatality.
Navigem Data has seeked to supplement the efforts of ethekwini hospital, Durban by developing a mobility platform that – helps patients self-assess the risk of a heart failure ; receive emergency health care within the golden hour after trauma, prepares doctors towards treatment & builds custom reports for the hospital management towards
understanding its patients better
